The inspiration was simple: sticky notes and a whiteboard. I imagine these items when visual aids are needed to sort through project ideas. This event's marketing goal was to invoke a brainstorming session. As a freelancer, I am always looking for another set of (creative) eyes on projects. I made more connections within the design community since this event has continued to evolve and expand. I like to thank spaces such as 2112 Inc. and One Three, a co-working and meeting space managed by One Design Company, to making this event even possible.
The marketing for this event has continue to evolve since we launched it in October 2023. I've made visual tweaks. I continue to lean into the sticky notes specifically its colors. The visual content was fully realized for the One Three event in January 2024. The graphics heavily uses the bright blues, pinks, and yellows. Yet each individual event's marketing does include graphics, the colorful sticky notes on a white background displaying the date/time and location, which frequently appears on AIGA Chicago's Instagram feed. I believe a strong brand and its consistency is needed to overcome a crowded IG feed. This event's brand identity is quite different than AIGA Chicago's other events and happenings, which is very intentional. Also, because my visual style is more playful and colorful.
Nevertheless, I met my goal in terms of how Coworking Days should come across visually to the local design community. Its continue success relies on returning attendees, higher attendance, and more local spaces hosting.
